Jahazi House is set on Kizingoni Beach in the Lamu Archipelago, set on two stories with a central courtyard and 10-metre swimming pool, surrounded by 4 lavish double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, all en suite. The upper level of the house is partially covered with seating areas and dining areas. Owing to its remote location Jahazi runs entirely off the grid, on wind and solar. The house is available on a self-catering or fully-catered basis, and the house is fully staffed.
Kizingoni Beach is located on the south edge of Lamu Island, away from the old town and Shela Beach and it’s in Kizingoni you will find beach lovers heaven. From world-famous kite surfing and water sports available at the house to boat safaris, swimming, walking and sailing, to deep sea fishing that’s hard to beat, Kizingoni really does have everything for your beach paradise.
A visit to Lamu, on the Northern part of the Kenyan Coast, is one of the best experiences the country has to offer. Landing at the airstrip on the mainland you take a boat taxi over to the island and experience Swahili culture like nowhere on earth. The island is steeped in Swahili history - spices, slaves and sultans - and the global connections this ancient trading hub has shaped. Transport on the narrow lanes is by donkey, or by boat around the island. Whether you want to stay in Lamu or Shela town and get swept away on culture and history or escape down to near-deserted Kizingoni beach and unbelievable skies and water sports, Lamu is the place and we have a house for you. Add to your experience by going go deep sea fishing off Lamu, or venture to Kiwayu. We can also set up overnight dhow experiences, sleeping on the deck of the traditional Arabian ship in decedent comfort and watching the night sky as you fall asleep…. Lamu really is incredible.
